When is the best time to visit NP Krka waterfalls ?

Most of the areas of the park are open to visitors all year long and the park is beautiful and worthwhile visiting anytime.

Take this into consideration if you plan your visit:

  • If you want to avoid crowds, the best time to visit is in the low season as it can be quite crowded in the high season. Low season in Croatia would be anytime before 1st of July and after 1st of September.
  • If you visit the park in the high season make sure to get there as early as possible.
  • Personally we think the park is most beautiful during Spring and  early summer when the river is strongest and nature is in its full bloom. This is also a great time to visit as the park is not overcrowded, weather is mild and temperature is ideal.
  • During the high summer season, in July and August, you will encounter the largest crowds in the national park, which means you might have to wait for a seat in the restaurant or in the line for the boat between Skradin and Skradinski buk.
  • During Autumn and Winter, there are only a few people visiting, so if you like to enjoy nature in a peaceful surrounding this is definitely the time to go.
