Description
We’ll take you to three different ąnd authentical places to taste the most exquisite local food & wines. Enjoy interesting talks about the food, gourmet traditions of this area and learn some interesting facts of the long and exciting history of Split. You’ll be guided through the Diocletian’s palace, you’ll walk the cobblestoned streets of the ancient town and pair each new place we visit with a unique Dalmatian flavour!
We'll continue our walk through the centre of the city, on our way to a restaurant, perfectly situated at the old town square, known for its traditional decor, handmade pasta and for working only with small local farms (OPG ). You will be presented with a Dalmatian plate of carefully selected prosciutto, various cheeses from the hinterland of Dalmatia and Pag island, jams, homemade bread, olive oil and salad. The next on the menu is a well known traditional slowly cooked meat risotto and seafood handmade pasta. These delicacies have to be paired with only the finest of the red and white wines of Southern Croatia, and we know which one pairs the best. We’ll end our tour, as it should be, with a dessert! And we have some fine and unique options!
You can choose between our morning and afternoon Gastro and History tour. The program is slightly different, adjusted and imbued with the unique vibes of the mornings or the evenings in the city.
In the morning we start with the vivid, noisy and colourful local food market. We’ll walk the market and talk about the local groceries, traditions, seasons, and customs. We’ll have some interesting food and fruit tastings along our way. Our next stop is a well known city fish market, of which we have some interesting stories to tell, but also which has an abundant daily delivery of diverse fish and seafood! We’ve also included a break, where you’ll try some fish and seafood, all paired with a glass of white wine!
In the evening we have some other places to visit! Soparnik tasting & fresh oyster tastings with a glass of a fine fine, served in the bustling evening atmosphere of the Old Town. We’ll try to make you relax and enjoy completely, so you immerse yourself in the magical evening atmosphere.
